Free Toddler Activity 2: Ball Play

This is the second free toddler activities. Try doing it with your child.
I hope you will enjoy it as you have fun in the previous free toddler activities.

Target Lesson: Colors

Material Used:

    2 basket

    20 Balls with different colors

            4 Yellow

            4 Blue

            4 Red

            4 Violet

            4 Orange

Step 1: Mommy ask my toddler to catch the ball before throwing each ball, we ask her:

            What is the color of this ball?

            The sequence is always by set; meaning: 4 consecutive red, 4 blue

            If she says the color correctly: Mommy says very good!

            If she doesn’t know the color; Rian says any color

            In this case Mommy reply: No No! this ball is color blue!

To make it more fun, after we finish all the balls mommy sings with:

            Shake your shoulder, shake your shoulder, Shake! Shake! Shake!

            Hi five!

            Mommy gives her imaginary star on her hands         

Step 2: We ask my toddler to shoot the ball in the basket but before throwing each ball we ask to look for the color that mommy ask her. I am holding the basket so she cannot shoot if she will not pick the correct color.

Mommy: Baby Shoot color blue

My Toddler: she will look for the 4 balls with color blue then shoot it in consecutive order.

To make it more fun, after we finish all the balls mommy sings with:

            Shake your shoulder, shake your shoulder, Shake! Shake! Shake!

            Hi five!

            Mommy gives her imaginary star on her hands         

Note: to make sure that she really understands the color, mommy request requests in random order
