Before Speech Language Pathologist gives 1 block to Rian, she ask her to identify the toys.

         Sample Toys:
             Plate
             Spoon
             Fork
             Book
             Doll

Part 1V: Check Tongue and Ear

Ear: Speech Language Pathologist let Rian play around 2 meters away from her then she calls her
Good sign: She must look at therapist when called by her name

Tongue: Speech Language Pathologist ask Rian to show her tongue. Then ask her to move up and down her  tongue.

Summary of Findings:

1.)    No problem with her ears
2.)    No problem with her tongue
3.)    Difficulty in saying: F and S
4.)    Echolalia
5.)    Limited vocabulary

Recommendations:

1.)    Since we are using 3 dialects at home: tagalog, ilocano, English. Therapist said that we must concentrate on one dialect only. We must identify her primary language. We must write down her current vocabulary, if most of the words she know is English then English is her primary language. When talking to her, we must talk to her in English only.

We can introduce 3 dialects at the same if the child does not have speech delay. However, since Rian is delayed in her speech then we must concentrate on one language only

2.)  Next step is to increase her vocabulary. One of the reasons why a child cannot communicate is   the lack of vocabulary. She simply doesn’t know the word to use to express her thoughts.
